Healing power of Holy Communion

In a Holy Communion Service, you see the Holy Communion table containing the communion bread and wine. The bread and the wine are the commemoration of the victorious body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. As a faithful believer in Christ behold the communion table, the preoccupation of the person’s mind or his meditation with reverential fear, should be a critical consideration of the power or potency and efficacy of the blood and body of our Lord Jesus Christ symbolized by the communion bread and wine.

It should be a time of sober reflection and retrospection of all that the Lord Jesus Christ passed through in offering and sacrificing himself to redeem mankind through His powerful precious blood which was shed and His body which was torn apart for our sins.

the Holy Communion, the believer harnesses the vintage fruits of healing, divine strength, divine health and strength imbedded in the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It was recorded that our Lord Jesus took the bread, and blessed it, broke it, and gave to His disciples.

The Bible records: “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and gave it to the disciples and said take it, eat, this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks and gave it to them saying, drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” –Matthew 26:26-27.

The Apostle Paul says: “The cup of the blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For  we being many are one bread, and one body, for we are all partakers of that one bread -1Corinthians10: 16-17. Two things are the most fundamental considerations in a communion service; the body of Jesus Christ and the blood of Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, the Israelites are forbidden to eat or drink the blood of sacrifice. But going by the prophetic reply which Abraham gave Isaac on their way to Mount Moriah which states: “The Lord shall provide Himself; a lamb for the sacrifice,” –Genesis 22:8.

In the death and atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ, God sacrificed Himself as the lamb for sacrifice; by His vicarious death He fulfilled the purpose of the mysterious introduction made concerning Him by Prophets John the Baptist as the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the whole world.

On the communion table, the triune God offers the blood and body of sacrifice urging those that believe, to drink all of it without reservation as often as they could in remembrance of Him. Indeed, this is the blood that God is offering to you that His life might be in you, and that you might dwell in Christ and Christ in you. Our Lord Jesus Christ confirms this.
