Former Leicester City star Mark Schwarzer has passed a damning verdict on Nigeria star Ahmed Musa – he is not good enough for ‘The Foxes’. Last season’s Premier League champions splashed 18 million pounds to land dashing forward Musa from Russian champions CSKA Moscow last summer.
However, he has since struggled to establish himself at Leicester City, scoring his last goal in the league in October and only being played as a late substitute as ‘The Foxes’ fought back after a poor run. Schwarzer played for Leicester City in the championship-winning 2015/16 season and he said summer signings like Musa have failed to justify their transfer. “Ahmed Musa and other summer signings have not been good enough,” said the Australia international goalkeeper, who has also featured for Chelsea.
“He has not lived up to expectations. “It’s only (Wilfred) Ndidi who has fitted into the first team.” Musa has insisted he will stay and fight for his place at the club amid growing speculations surrounding his future. He has only made seven starts in 21 appearances and has scored twice in the league.
