INEC to begin Dino’s recall September 18 
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on September 18, release revised timetable and scheduled of activities for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye.
Senator Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial zone, on Monday, lost the bid to stop his recall at Federal High Court Abuja.
The court presided over by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba ruled that the electorate who ‎voted him into office also have the right to take back the gift he gave to him.
INEC which had stayed further action on Melaye’s recall since July 6, said it would resume the recall process now that the legal hurdle has been cleared.
In a statement, yesterday by Mallam Mohammed Haruna, a National Commissioner, the commission said the recall process would now proceed “as envisaged by the Constitution, the Electoral Act and the extent lNEC guidelines and regulations.”
It noted that the process was‎ suspended in obedience to the court order, adding that with the Monday’s judgment a revised timetable would be released to complete the process.
