Not less than 250,000 indigenous architects and Nigerians in Diaspora will converge on the city of Port Harcourt, River State as they set for the annual West African Architecture Festival (WAAF). According to the President, Nigerian Institute of architects.Mr. Tonye Oliver Braide, the forum is meant to bring all architects in Nigeria and in the diaspora together to celebrate excellence in architecture.
Themed: “Celebrating Diaspora Excellence: The Leap into the New Civilisation,” he explained that what West African architecture was trying to achieve is to further create a point of convergence among architects in Nigeria as a suitable point of investment that will grow the city of Port-Harcourt .
Chairman, NIA, River State chapter, Andrew Egbuonu, said that WAAF’s target was to educate and create lifestyle improvement and network with architects by bringing them together especially under a big name in West African and beyond.
“Some of them are going to exhibit their projects, which range from fashion fair to project presentation, music, and seminar from West African region during the forum,” he said.
