About 600 individuals, who are mostly chairmen, director and stakeholders in microfinance banks have been trained in various aspects of management. The training was organised by Kingdom Wealth Multipurpose Cooperative Society for South West region in Lagos. South West Regional Coordinator of Kingdom Wealth Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Dr. Mike Alatise, in a statement, said the World Bank set aside N10 billion per bank in other to empower small scale businesses with the modern microfinance banks that Will in turn will deal directly with business owners. Alatise, who is also the executive chairman, Megastar Microfinance Bank, said that the drive to see poverty eradicated from Nigeria had been the motivating factor behind his organisation’s three-month relationship with Kingdom Wealth Multipurpose Cooperative Society.
“I am convinced to continue this relationship with Kingdom Wealth as the certificates delivered from social exchange market goes further to clear any doubts,” he said. During the seminar, resources personalities lectured on introduction to microfinance bank management and bank operations.
The Kingdom Wealth management informed the 600 participants that kingdom wealth became a beneficiary of the World Bank “bottom up” through Mr. Donald Oluwakeyede who serves as a consultant and the link between their organisations and the World Bank. Participants according to the statement, were also informed of the involvement of statutory bodies such as Development Bank of Nigeria that will be overseeing the transfer of the grant from the World Bank as well as the social exchange market in charge of registration of the modern microfinance banks before being entitled to the grants.
