Even unbelievers pay tithe – Pastor Agboli

The wife of the General Overseer of Victorious Army Ministries, Pastor Mrs. Blessing Agboli, has slammed the founder of Covenant Singles and Married Ministries, Pastor Chris Ojigbani, for challenging the doctrine of tithing.
She described Ojigbani as one who knows the word of God, but yet has not received revelation of the knowledge he had acquired from studying the scriptures.
Mrs. Agboli, who spoke at a press briefing to acquaint journalists with the church’s forthcoming annual Bethel Victory Convention, insisted that tithing is biblical. She stressed that unless Ojigbani received requisite revelation of the word of God, his impression of tithing would not hold water.
Her words: “I don’t know what gave the young man the notion to want to challenge tithing. If you believe in the blessings of the Old Testament you must also believe in the instructions of the Old Testament. You cannot take those blessing and throw away the instructions.
“People of this generation do not want to refer to the Old Testament; and Jesus said that he has not come to abolish the law which means there was a laid down law. What you should do as a Christian even though we work in grace, is to know that commitments and service are required from a true child of God, in obedience for you to attain a certain level of blessings. So tithing is biblical.”
She added that Ojigbani’s challenge of the doctrine has only succeeded in reviving the importance of tithing in the church which she said was before now a dying practice.
Speaking on the convention, the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Joseph Agboli explained that the year’s Betel Victory Convention promises to be a season of ingathering of multitudes of people, over flow of God’s glory and greater out pouring of the Holy Spirit upon God’s people with amazing signs and wonders.
“It is going to mark the end of era of ever afflictions of life. The yokes of satanic curses unleashed over humanity hindering them from manifesting God’s ordained destinies will be terminated; the yokes of bareness, sickness, poverty and marital delays will be ended in this very 2017 Victory convention.
“And surely the people of God are not only going to smile in this convention but they shall experience a continuous laughter to the glory of the Lord,” he said.
According to him, God has prepared His servants with wonderful apostolic anointing like Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, KICC London, Pastor Abel Damina, Apostle Joshua Telina, Rev Ntia Ntia, Apostle Paul Thompson and minister in songs Chinyere Udoma, Joe Praise, Kingsley Ike, Big Bolaji, Steve Crown and the church choirs, to shower blessing on all who will be in attendance.
