Group mulls construction of legacy buildings

In order to meet the future needs of luxury real estate in Nigeria and Africa, a group under the Fusion of Real Estate, Interior Design and Art (FREIA)  has concluded plans to promote the construction of legacy buildings.

Speaking in Lagos on the need to build structures that meet the need of the future, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Luxury Villas Group (LVG) , Mr. Tommy Odama, said the importance of  architecture, interior design and art could not be jettisoned.

“Buildings like Nestoil in Nigeria and  Burj al’ Arab in Dubai,  these are the kind of structures  we want to start seeing in Africa,” he said.

For this purpose, Odama said his firm in collaboration with others,  was staging  the “ (FREIA- 2017) next month in Lagos  to drive home the point.

According to him, the biggest names in Africa’s luxury real estate, interior design and art market   would converge  to explore the possibilities.

He said the forum  would champion conversations on how Nigerians could build truly masterful pieces by fusing real estate, design and art, bearing in mind that every structure is a legacy.

Themed: “Next Frontiers: Building Tomorrow’s Masterpieces”, Founder/CEO, Agatha’s Interior Design Limited,  Agatha Eric-Udorie, stated that  key stakeholders and players in the three industries would meet to discuss key issues relating to the unique relationship  and opportunities of growth in Nigeria.

She explained that the forum would encompass open exhibition for distinctive arts and design experiences as well as property acquisition opportunities and partnerships.

Odama explained that real estate was more than just the physical building or structure, that building takes more than laying brick on brick.

“Interior architecture and design go a long way to make any structure stand out and that’s what luxury is all about,” she said.

“Of course, art is like icing on the cake. There are certain buildings that just looking at them, you know it is an art piece,” he said.
