Nigerian and international agricultural policymakers, agribusiness leaders, farmers, technologists and investors are expected to gather to discuss at this year’s fourth edition of the Agra Innovate West Africa expo.
The event, according to a statement, is scheduled to hold at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, from 21 – 22 November 2017.
It is expected to showcase the latest in agriculture in Nigeria and the whole of West Africa, according to the organisers.
“After the success of last year’s Agra Innovate in Nigeria, we are ensuring that the upcoming exhibition will again have the great ambience all attendees have previously experienced. The seminars have consistently been the best in terms of layout, facilities and hospitality. It will be the one place this year where the whole agriculture industry will come together to learn and do business,” the Programme Director, Agra Innovate West Africa, Folusho Olaniyan said.
According to the organisers, the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, will lead the government functionaries to open the event.
The President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and two-time former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Onikepo Akande, will deliver the keynote address at the event.
Other confirmed speakers include Dr Andrew Westby from University of Greenwich; Julian Smith from Fera Science UK; William Scott from Dexis Consulting/Aglandinvest USA; Theresa Cooper, Dean of Diversity, Iowa state University and Dr Olusegun Ojo, Director-General, National Seed Council. Others are Terrence Lacey, West Africa Food Markets, and Erelu Bisi Fayemi, a visiting lecturer to King’s College London Centre for African Leadership, and Founder of Abovewhispers.com.
