Fancy matching separates

When we were kids, we often had some matchy-matchy outfits that we didn’t care for much, especially if they were made with Ankara fabric. Lucky for most kids, they also had “ready-made” clothes to support the matching ones. Those were often a hit among little girls because they had all the beautiful and rich fabrics like satin, silk, chiffon, organza, laces etc.

As adults however, who have more control over their wardrobe choices, we still make matching clothes and wear them together.

The style is quite cool and can be rocked to the hilt with the right attitude and accessories.

Matching separates are the same pattern and colour of fabric made into a skirt, pants or shorts with a matching top.

They are separates (top and bottom like skirt or trousers) and yet they are worn together.

This style works on many levels for several reasons, not least of which are the facts that they are uni-patterned and create a lean silhouette as well as the slimming effect of a top and bottom piece of clothing.

Styling of matching separates has been m a d e easy with the current trend of mixing trends like athletic and glam, casual and formal, etc.

So you can wear a pair of sneakers with a patterned skater skirt and crop top in the same pattern.

This look could work for a causal Friday at work outfit (make sure your midriff isn’t exposed) or a late evening date for drinks and even the movies. Just remember to style the matching separates in tune with your personality and what you are comfortable in.

If you cannot live with your parents and you absolutely must get your own place, you would be wise to find some flatmates so that you can share the financial burden with others, reducing the cost.

Clip your entertainment cost with a large clipper. When you decide to cut entertainment costs, do not only look at the money. The reason behind the spending is also important. For instance, instead of going out to bars on Saturday where you are sure to spend more, organise BBQs and have your friends come with a bottle each of your choice of “poison” (drinks).

Start a retirement plan as it is never too early to do so. Besides setting money aside for your retirement, consider investing your money.

Remember that the higher the dividends/profit, the higher the risks too. You want to invest in a reliable company or more. If we are as smart about our money and invest it as well as we can gossip, the financial world would be a much better place.
