Again El-Rufai threatens to demolish Hunkuyi’s House

The Senator representing Kaduna North Senatorial district, Suleiman Hunkuyi has cried out over plans to demolish another of his property in Kaduna.

In a tweet Wednesday afternoon,  Hunkuyi said the state Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai has sent a bill of N 30 Million Naira to him as ground rent to be paid within 30 days.

Hunkuyi said he is worried that failure to pay might lead to demolition of the property which is located at Inuwa Wada road in Kaduna metropolis just like the one in Sambo road.

The tweet said, “Once again, @GovKaduna Malam @elrufai has sent a ridiculous bill to me for a purported ground rent of my personal house at Inuwa Wada to the tune of N30Million to be paid within 30 days, failure to do so might probably result to another demolition like he did on my other property”, Hunkuyi tweeted.

It would be recalled that Senator Hunkuyi’s house located at 11B Sambo road which was recently commissioned as the factional office of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the state was demolished on Tuesday by agents of the state government.

The Kaduna State Geographical Information Service (KADGIS) in a statement said the Demolition became necessary because Senator Hunkuyi did not pay ground rent for 8 years and also violated the land use.
