Akande’s The Last Flight for launch

Published

on

The Last Flight, a book written by Dapo Akande, is set for launch in Lagos. The book is a personal journey to rediscovering values.

In The Last Flight…, the author offers “innumerable lessons of love, life, individual and family responsibilities and how they are developed, discerned and distilled to contemporaries as well succeeding generations”.

Notes the immediate past VC of Babcock University, Professor J. k Makinde, in the foreword, the “gem thoughts distilled on the pages of this book are so germaine and current to issues affecting personal and family development and therefore more inspirational than mere motivational, even if they eventually end up having motivational impact on the reader.

“From the very first page of this book all the way to the back cover, one would glean innumerable lessons of love, life, individual and family responsibilities and how they are developed, discerned and distilled to contemporaries as well succeeding generations.

It was particularly revealing, that it was as he sought to lift a brother through a rough patch and critical moment in his life, that he was ultimately empowered to discover himself and his purpose in life.”

According to Prof. Makinde, the main strength of this epistle is in its clarity of thought and focus, simplicity of expression and raw honesty of content.

The Last Flight will be presented to the public on Sunday March 25, at the Conference Hall of the University of Lagos.

The author, after spending 20 years in the UK where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in English and Classical Studies from the University of Surrey, he returned to his motherland and engaged in private business for over two decades.

His innate passion for impacting knowledge and to the younger generation soon got the better of him, hence his subsequent berth as an ardent character education advocate.

He’s also currently pursuing a Masters’ programme in Professional Ethics at the University of Lagos.
