Uwazuruike condemns police invasion of MASSOB secretariat

There was pandemonium on Sunday in Anaku community as a combined team of policemen and Anambra Vigilantee Services (AVS), numbering about 30 raided MASSOB and BIM secretariat in Anaku the Ayamelum Local Government Headquarters of Anambra state.

 

In a press statement issued yesterday by the leader of Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) Anambra North Zone, Mr. Damian Nzekwe said the policemen who came in a convoy of about four Hilux trucks, allegedly shot two persons and went away with valuables and some cash.

 

The press statement claimed that the police allegedly stormed the secretariat at about 10 minutes past 10a.m. shooting sporadically and canisters on the MASSOB members in their bid to disperse the crowded secretariat.

 

However, Leader of Biafra Independence Movement and founder of the Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (BIM/MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike had condemned the alleged attack, saying that despite the non-violent approach of its agitation, police still visited the group with brute force.
