AUN to graduate 10th set on Saturday

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, has concluded plans to graduate its 10th set of students on Saturday, May 19, at its main campus, Yola.

 

The release signed by the Director, Communications, Office of Communications & PR, Mr. Innocent Okorie Nwobodo, stated that the Chief Executive and Co-Founder of Flutterwave, Mr. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, had been selected as the keynote speaker for the ceremony.

 

Nwobodo recalled that another Nigerian, a Rhodes scholar and leading investment banker, Mr. Mike Chioke, who belonged to the AUN Board of Trustees and who played a similar role at last year’s graduation, would continue to be charged with projects.

 

He noted that over the years, AUN had commencement speakers of international renown that includes Archbishop Desmond Tutu (2009), Dr. Haroun Adamu (2010), then European Union Ambassador to Nigeria Dr. David MacRae (2011).

 

Others are Dr. Robert A. Pastor (2012), veteran civil rights champion, Ms. Charlayne Hunter-Gault (2013), Ambassador John Simon (2014), Colombian educator, Vicky Colbert (2015) and Dr. Mustapha Abiodun Akinwunmi, a former commissioner for finance in Lagos State (2016).
