President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Musa Kida, has called on the game’s stakeholders to join hands with him and his board to take the game to the next level. Speaking during the 2018 NBBF Stake Holders Meeting which took place in Lagos on Wednesday with Abuja leg scheduled for today (Friday).
“This meeting gives us an opportunity of sharing ideas as we strive to take basketball to the next level in Nigeria,” Kida said. “Considering the unnecessary acrimony which has bedeviled the Nigerian basketball scene in the past 10 months, this forum could not have come at a better time.
We have an opportunity of examining the painful past, acknowledging and understanding it and above all transcending it together. “I want to state categorically that I and members of the NBBF are willing to work with each and every basketball stakeholder in Nigeria devoid of any sentiments. There is no “us” or “them” and we will continue to do all it takes to carry everyone along.
“I am therefore using this opportunity once again to call on all basketball stakeholders in Nigeria to join hands with me and my board to enable Nigerian basketball attains the desired height expected.”
