An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded a job seeker, Olisa Anachuna, at Kirikiri Prisons for alleged armed robbery.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi, who did not allow the plea of the accused to be taken, ordered him to be remanded in prison.
She adjourned the case until July 30 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem told the court that Anachuna, 25, residing at No. 15, Bonny Str., in Mile 2, Lagos, is being tried for conspiracy and armed robbery.
Raji said that the accused committed the offences on June 26 at Kirikiri Road in Apapa, Lagos.
Akeem said that the accused and some others now at large, waylaid one Nnamdi Ezedialo on his way home at gun point.
“The accused and his other accomplices robbed the complainant of his two mobile phones, valued at N52, 500 and N72, 000 cash.
“It was when they had gone that the complainant raised an alarm and the police on patrol was able to arrest the accused while his accomplice escaped.”
Raji said the offences contravened Sections 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
