DJ Blinky set to break Guinness world record

Creative Disc Jockey (DJ) Adoo Kelvin Confidence (aka DJ Blinky) is on the verge of breaking the Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Club mixing recorded music.

The record is for the largest time to Continuously Play and Mix in a Night Club, attempted by an individual; its measurement value is time on hours, minutes and seconds.

 

For him to achieve the feast there will be no pause longer than 10 seconds between tunes; music will continue. The event will be monitored by official of Guinness Book of World Records is expected to generate lots of review and telecast.

The DJ will attempt to beat the current record of 14 days by mixing recorded music for 16 days. The Marathon will kick off on August 20 and end on September 5.

DJ Blinky is not new to the music scene. He started his DJ career from High School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, worked with some radio stations like Raypower, PTC FM. He worked with artistes like Wanconzy, Burna Boy, among others.

Expressing his desire to achieve the golden achievement, he said. “I am very happy for what I am about to do. I have put in my best and I am very optimistic that I will get the desired result,” he enthused.

He added that though his parents are late, but his household are not aware of what he intend to achieve. “I am the youngest child of the family; my parents are late; my sister is married. I came from a family that does not really understand music, they don’t understand the entertainment world so I am the only one, even when I told them I wanted to come Lagos, they were like ‘who are you going to stay with? Who do you know in Lagos? They don’t know what is going on right now, except for their children who do follow me on Instagram. After the whole event, I am planning to go back there for a tour and then make them understand that this is what I am doing now.”
