2019: Trekker predicts PDP’s victory

A man, Mukhaila Isa, who embarked on a trek against the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Lagos about a month ago, arrived Abuja yesterday.
Isa, who was carrying small casket adorned in APC colour and logo with inscription “RIP APC,” arrived the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at 4.30p.m.
The man claimed that the journey took him 34 days to complete, some days longer that it took him when he undertook similar journey in 2015.
“I spent 34 days on the road but I have some days off because of my leg injury,” he told journalists at the PDP secretariat.
Isa had trekked the same distance in 2015 when Muhammadu Buhari was elected president.
But he said the present administration had brought untold hardship on the people, which informed his decision to embark on another trek for the APC’s obituary.
Isa advised the PDP leadership to present a credible candidate so as to win next year’s presidential election.
He said: “I am not a politician, I am for good governance. I am not just alone on this, I am telling you; there are millions of youths on this.
“I am assuring PDP, if PDP can give us a good candidate for 2019, take it or leave it, PDP is winning 2019 election.
“From here, I am taking the casket to the mortuary because as you can see, APC is dead forever. The burial will be after 29th May.”
Isa denied being sponsored by any politician or belonging to a political party, but expressed hope that PDP would win election in 2019.
He was later presented before the PDP leaders at the inauguration of the party’s National Convention Committee.
The Deputy National Chairman (South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, who inaugurated the committee, praised the trekker for his courage.
