Davido recounts how his dad sent 50 policemen to arrest him

Popular singer, songwriter and record producer, David Adedeji Adeleke, a.k.a Davido, has revealed that his father sent 50 policemen to arrest him during his first show, because he left school for the show, and that they were eventually released when he went to the police station. He also said that his father sent him to America to prevent him from venturing into music.

Davido disclosed this when he was interviewed on the Breakfast show Power 105.1 hosted by Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy. “My dad found out about my first show I was upstairs in a green room about to come down and I looked down and saw 50 policemen. They arrested my ex, my manager, the promoter of the show.

“My dad then called and was like if I don’t come out all my friends are going to jail so I had to go to the station. I remember I went through the back fence,” he said. According to him, after evading the arrest by scaling the fence, his father threatened to send all of them to jail if he doesn’t show up at the police station.

He said they were eventually released when he went to the police station. “This period was about the time that Dami Duro came out. The song received airplay and even the president and his father’s friends also loved him.” While telling of his journey into music, Davido mentioned how his dad is a popular businessman: “My pops is a bus ine s sman that everyone knew him already. ”
