Due to all that went down recently when former point man of United Bank of Africa, UBA, who doubles as the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu and his siblings, hosted an elaborate and classy ceremony all in honour of their mother on her birthday anniversary, it is a fact that the event will for a while remain talk of the town.
Their mother, Chief Susan Elumelu added another year to hit milestone age of 90.
All roads led to Church of Assumption, Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos, where the celebration took off with a thanksgiving service that witnessed a large turn-out of the crème-de-la crème of the society. The train moved to upscale event centre on highbrow area of Victoria Island, Harbour Point for a glamourous reception, where guests were treated to good food and drinks of various kinds and lively musical performances by BeeJay Sax, Elegant Stallion, Onyeka Onwenu and Pop Star, Phyno. DJ Sousse was on the wheels of steel. The high-point of the celebration was the cutting of the 90th birthday cake by Mama Susan flanked by her children, grand-children and some of the dignitaries.
The dignitaries studded colourful ceremony had likes of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Otunba Adekunle Ojora & Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Chukwumalieze 1 of Onicha-Ugbo, HRM Obi Victor, Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. Chief Emeka Anyaoku. Also on hand to share in the joy of the day are Prince Bola Akin-Olugbade, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Chairman Skymit Limited, Tayo Ayeni, Former Chairman Skye Bank, Mr. Tunde Ayeni, Segun Awolowo, Jim Ovia, among others.
