All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to address poverty in the state and ensure that he reach out to the people at the grassroots level to alleviate poverty and cater for the poor.
Speaking during his ‘Thank you visit to Lagos Central Senatorial District leadership forum’ where he met with APC leaders in the senatorial district at Muri-Okunola Street, Victoria Island in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu also assured the people of Lagos State that his government will not condone wasteful spending.
His words: “There is large disparity between the very rich and very poor in the country. There are many poor people at the grassroots and we must do everything to touch their lives. We will do something tangible to ensure that we touch the lives of the poor and those at the grassroots for them to feel the impact of government.
“Our government will be a listening government. Our government will be a government that will look at party and look at the party’s manifestoe. We will not condole wasteful spending but we will be fair to everybody. We will make sure that we ensure that the greatest good is for the greatest numbers.”
He also thanked Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and all the members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, the apex leadership body of Lagos APC for supporting his aspiration and working toward his emergence as the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State.
Also speaking at the event, APC apex leader in Lagos Central Senatorial district and GAC member, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, urged all the party leaders to work for Sanwo-Olu and APC success in next year governorship election.
The Director-General of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organisation (BOSCO), Mr. Tayo Ayinde, said the organisation is working toward ensuring that they deliver 2.5million votes for Sanwo-Olu in next year governorship election.
Former Lagos State Commissioner for Works and APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Olatunji Hamzat also implored party members to campaign for the party and mobilized to ensure that 50 per cent of the registered voters vote for APC in 2019 general elections.
