Residents flee abode over incessant arrest, harassment by police in Osun

Many residents of Olojabala, Osunjela in Atakumosa West Local Government Area of Osun State have fled their community, following their incessant arrest and harassment by the state’s Police Command. Their offence, it was learnt, was the roles played by them in questioning a member of the state’s House of Assembly, whom they arrested in the midnight few months ago while allegedly bathing naked in their community.

They frowned at their arrest and charged the law enforcement agents to do their investigation thoroughly and fish out those that duped the lawmaker as claimed and stop indiscriminate arrest of innocent souls in the community The landlords of the community said: “We locked the car and while we were tracing the owner. We saw him coming naked with a telephone torch. We challenged him and he told us that they came to our community to consult Ifa oracle.

We saw blood and a bowl in his car. We asked him where he saw the blood and he said it was the blood of cow. “It was about 1am on that day. We were beating him before he told us that he is a member of the state Assembly. He called one of the land owner whose name is Mufutau. “It was Mufutau that begged us to release him and we allowed him to go. He promised to give us N500,000 to continue our electricity pole that we are doing. So, he broke the glass of his car and took his clothes.”
