As part of activities to mark the sixth anniversary of Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State, the Minister of Solid Mineral, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has inaugurated the rehabilitated Girls Secondary School and water projects to the tune of N700 million.
The minister in speech stated that the projects, which were executed by the governor to develop the state, was a remarkable achievement which deserved commendations. The projects inaugurated by the minister are the water works at Kurya Madaro town and that of Kasuwar Daji, which cost the government the sum of N628 million, while the Girls Secondary School project at Kotorkoshi was executed at the cost of N73 million.
The minister stressed that the provision of water to the community was deserving, saying: “When you provide water to the community, it is not that you quenched the thirst of that community, but you as well enhancing the healthcare of the people in the community.”
He maintained that the construction of newly girls collage in Kotorkoshi by the state government in addition to existing one is something of commendation that the government is really paying attention to education in the state. “For me there is something particularly profound when the government is paying attention to the education of girls, because as it was said, when you educate a woman, you are educating the entire society and when you educate women you are protecting the entire society.
“I believed that this project is not only appreciate, but is timely and is fixed value to what is clear gap in the development of education in our country particularly in the Northern part of our country and I want thank Yari for the attention he is paying to the Girls Child education in the state,” the minister said.
