Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff said his future political ambition is in the hand of God.
The former Bornu State governor, who was emphatic that he is not going to contest the PDP national chairmanship position at the party’s planned national convention, however, said he could not decide his presidential ambition in 2019.
At a press conference Monday, Sheriff said he accepted the party’s decision to zone the national chairmanship position to the southern part of the country while the PDP presidential candidate in 2019 will come from the north.
According to him, every political position he occupied in life was determined by God.
“Every position I occupied in life, God made it possible. I am a firm believer in the will of God. I told you I will not run for the chairmanship position, the rest we leave to God,” Sheriff stated.
The PDP National Reconciliation Committee headed by Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson had recommended that the party’s National Convention should hold not later than June 30 while the formation of the National Convention Planning Committee (NCPC) should be across board.
