Community sends SOS to security agencies over attacks

The residents of Okerisa- Aruwayo in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State have appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Abubarkar Idris and the state’s Governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), to come to their rescue from total annihilation over incessant attacks from neighbouring towns.

The head of the community, Chief Albert Epebinu, alleged that their communities have been deserted as a result of attacks on them by the people from Iwada, which is a neighbouring community.

Epebinu, who said many of the residents have been hospitalised because of the injuries sustained during attacks on them, said the government should not wait until the reprisal attack would lead to causalities on both sides.

He called on Akeredolu and Idris to provide security to them and prevent the total annihilation of their community by their aggressors. The community head said several petitions have been written the state government and the security agencies without positive response saying they should not be allowed to take laws into their hands.

The octogenarian leader said their means of livelihood were being destroyed by the invaders while food items stored in the farms have been carted away.
