Ahead of the conduct of Local Government Council election in Benue State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has been enmeshed in deep-seated crisis, following complaints by critical stakeholders of imposition of candidates on the party.
However, New Telegraph reliably gathered yesterday that some of affected Local Government Areas include Gwer West, Buruku, Ukum, Okpokwu and Kastina-Ala, among others.
The State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) had announced that it would conduct the election on June 3, counselling aspirants to kick start their campaigns.
Since the date for council polls was announced, local government areas had not known peace due to alleged plot by the party stalwarts in the state to impose candidates on the members.
Meanwhile, hundreds of protesters from Gwer West yesterday trooped to the main entrance of the Government House with placards protesting what they described as imposition of candidates on them.
