Four persons were burnt beyond recognition on Tuesday when a fuel laden tanker fell and exploded around Fidiwo area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Two others were seriously injured in the accident which occurred about 2:28pm on the ever busy highway.
New Telegraph learnt that two tankers were involved in the mishap which sparked inferno that raged for over two hours.
Eye witnesses said the four victims, who lost their lives, were trapped inside one of the fuel tankers marked FFA 752 XA after it fell on its side and caught fire.
The driver of the ill-fated tanker, who was said to be travelling to Ibadan, lost control while attempting to overtake another fuel tanker, forcing it to tumble in the process.
Fire fighters and other rescue personnel stormed the scene and their timely intervention saved the other tanker from catching fire.
