Over one year ago, the vacant stool of Oluwo in Iwo, Osun State, was given to Oba Abdurasheed Adewale Akanbi. It was a decision that brought jubilation as it was believed it was on course to have young blood occupy the throne and the young monarch had taken off on a right footing.

But this impression of many has been eroded as the handsome monarch seems to cut out as a controversial figure.

The former Canada based monarch, Oba Rasheed, drew the ire of his people when he was accused of defiling the traditional stool with his dress sense which they said does not portray him as the custodian of the traditions he’s supposed to uphold but he was able to weather through that storm.

He has been rumoured to be involved in one controversial issue or the other at different times until recently when he got stuck in one which might be said to have completely given him out as a controversial personality.

The latest issue which has his opponent in the person of another monarch in the same state, Oluwo Oke of Iwo Oke, Oba Kadiri Adeoye has seen him being dragged to court but he compounded the situation by defying court orders.

Meanwhile, following the last warrant of arrest issued by the court that may embarrass him if followed to the letters, the Canada returnee may have found an escape route from what is termed as imminent embarrassment if information reaching us is anything to go by.

Dependable sources informed us that the governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has appealed to his feuding opponent to withdraw the suit against Oluwo from the court as he hopes to wade in to find a solution.
