Officials of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State, are hunting for a woman, Mrs. Joy Osoneye, who allegedly sold her daughter’s baby boy for N250,000. According to the police, although the baby’s mother, Miss Onyinyechi Osoneye (22), is already in police custody, attempts to arrest Osoneye have been futile. Kunle OlayeniA Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, yesterday sentenced a 90-year-old man, Rasaki Raji, to six months imprisonment for swindling a woman of N150,000 on the pretext of procuring a half plot of land for her. He was, however, offered an option of fine of N50,000. The convict was arraigned on a two-count charge of obtaining under false pretext and stealing. Troops kill 6 Boko Haram suspects, recover N29,000

The Nigerian Army has said that its troops on clearance operation in Borno State on Tuesday, killed six suspected Boko Haram elements. In a statement by its spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Usman, the Army disclosed that a total of N29, 040. 00 was recovered from the body of one of the neutralised suspected insurgents.
